The fifth restaurant in the Dean Street Dining series is the Ramen Bar Tonkotsu. Tonkotsu takes its name from a particular type of Ramen typically served in the southern island of Kyushu and both the restaurant and the food are a labour of love for the owners. Reading more about them on their website you can see the lengths they have gone to to get the food they serve as close to the authentic Japanese recipe as is humanly possible in London. Noodles are made by them using a machine imported from Japan using flour sourced from a specialist mill in Oxford. The restaurant is simply laid out and welcoming, if you are out with friends or on your own you’ll find it is a relaxing place to spend some time.
Many thanks to Emma, Thomas, Ursula and the rest of the team for letting me take these images.
